President’s Message: Tas Tudor and Expressions of Interest Junior Roles

Written by: Jim Parry

Hi All

The season is well underway with some stellar performances across all teams and grades. I am particularly pleased to see our juniors and girls doing so well, as well as the senior players, with many teams sitting high on the tables. Importantly it seems that people are really enjoying their cricket across Vets, Seniors and Juniors. Thank you again to all those parents, team volunteers and captains who put the time in to make these games happen.

Tas Tudor – Junior Committee Structure
I want to say a particular thank you to Tas Tudor who has been putting in many hours over the last few seasons in leading the junior section of the club – he has done a fantastic job. Tas has indicated that he will not be able to continue this role next season but will still be very involved in the club. Given this, we have taken the opportunity to look hard at what we need going forward to spread the load and involve more of you. Tas and the Committee are keen to enable a handover during this season, so that we are well set up for next year. So, we are looking for early expressions of interest across the following roles:

Vice President – Juniors:  Represent and lead junior committee. Liaise between junior committee and executive committee.

Registration Coordinator: To coordinate and support player and team registrations on Play HQ.

Communications: To support and liaise with the Communications Manager (Matt Saunders) to ensure that all great things across our activity are captured and shared with the junior and senior sections of the club.

Age Group Coordinators x 5: The key point of contact for junior teams, junior coaches and team managers to ensure consistency and relevant flow of team and competition information,

  • Blasters
  • Girls Stages 1, 2 & 3,
  • U10/11,
  • U12/13/14,
  • U15/16/17

Junior Social Manager: We are keen to involve many more of our junior section in social events and organisation. This role will form part of the social subcommittee with our social events manager Scott Rankin and help engage and organise events for the junior section of the club as well as the senior.

We will of course share more details on the roles. I want to emphasise however that no one role should be carrying an unrealistic burden. By sharing the junior roles and creating specific sets of activity, these should be fun and rewarding. This way with your help, we’ll further enable the junior section to grow and flourish.

For more information or to express your interest in helping the club in one of these roles, please contact either me or Tas on:

Thank you for your support
