A Fantastic Evening Celebrating 100 Years of GICC

The GICC Centenary Ball took place on Saturday 9th December at the stunning Merrimu Grand Ballroom and will be remembered foryears to come.

The evening began with a delicious selection of pre-dinner canapes with drinks served upon arrival followed by a 3 course meal prepared by the award-winning team of Merrimu chefs.

Around 170 guests attended the evening and came from all sections of the club, from juniors right through to legends of the club, past presidents and many life members. Of course the evening was made complete by the attendance of partners, family members and friends.

Our huge thanks go to the event sponsor Shelter Real Estate. Shelter also attended the ball in force and facilitated the auction of great prizes, including the e scooter, bottle of whisky/president’s tickets to a Richmond AFL home game, GICC Christmas Hamper, plus of course the autographed GICC Centenary Book.

Paul Connors excelled as our MC for the night and his floor walk interviews with club members was a memorable and highly entertaining event.

Raffle tickets were purchased in large numbers to win great prizes including: Equilibrium Sports Clinic Vouchers, THE GAME cricket wallets voucher, Ashburton Meats Vouchers, Daylesford Spa Voucher, GICC Merchandise Voucher, Oydis Bar Voucher, Deeds Party Pack Voucher. These wonderful prizes were announced by club legends Mike Bullock, Robin Ferguson and Paul McDermott.

The evening was rounded off with dance music to suit all tastes DJ’d by Max Tribe.

Very definitely an evening to celebrate our 100 years anniversary!
