In this weekend’s LOC2 game v East Doncaster at Serpell’s Reserve, Scott Rankin will play his 200th game for the Glen Iris Cricket Club.

Joining Glen Iris in the 2004/05 season, in 197 games since debut, Scott has made 2027 runs which puts him 96th on the list of highest run scorers for the club. In those 2000+ runs, Scott has made 6 x 50x and 1 x 100 with a highest score of 133 against Abbotsford Anglers at Anderson Park.

Bearing a remarkable resemblance to Dale Steyn; as a bowling all-rounder, Scott has also taken 271 wickets, which is 25th on the list of all time wicket takers, with 8 x 5wi and best bowling of 6/3.

Scott is also a three-time premiership player, as a member of the 2005/06 (3rd XI) 2008/09 (3rd XI) and 2011/12’s all-star 3rd XI premierships. He is also a four time Most Valuable player in the 3rd XI (2010/11) 3rd XI (2011/12) 2014/15 (4th XI) and 2019/20 (3rd XI) to go along with his 2014/15 4th XI Batting Award and 2006/07 (Colts) and 2019/20 3rd XI Bowling Award. He won the 2006/07 Chris Joseph Most Improved Player Award and has also won the 2010/11 3rd XI Fielding Award.

Along the way, Scott has also served the club as the 2008/09 3rd XI Captain and off field, served the Club Committee in the 2013/14, 2014/15 and 2015/16 seasons, organising one of the all time great Club Social Functions, Bogan Bingo.

One of the club’s great all rounders, both on and off the field, the Club congratulates Scott on his magnificent achievement and service to the club and wishes the side luck, to once again bring home the win for Dale in his milestone game.
