Reminder – COVID Protocols

Written by: Scott Rojko

Hi All,

Happy New year and we are all very much looking forward to restarting our cricket this weekend.

Given the increased concerns around COVID cases in Victoria and indeed our local areas, I wanted to remind everyone and especially captains and COVID managers of the following for the club’s COVID protocols:

  • Masks must be worn indoors if not eating or drinking
  • No sharing of communal food or drinks (eg no communal afternoon tea/drinks)
  • Sanitise balls and hands every 20 overs during the game, as well as before and after. Also regularly at training
  • QR code registration at training and matches
  • Umpires not to touch the ball, hats or jumpers. Whilst bowling these are to be left either outside the boundary of behind the umpire.

It’s easy for us to relax on these very imporant actions as time goes by, but fiven the speed of which COVID can raise it’s head, I ask that we all help and remind each other to make sure we protect ourselves as best we can – irrespective of whether the opposition is actioning these. Let’s keep the standards high.

Many thanks for your help.

Go Iris!

Jim
