2021/22 Leadership Structure

Written by: Scott Rojko

The Glen Iris CC is pleased to announce our leadership structure for season 21/22 in our return to Dunstan Shield.
Club Head Coach – Lucas Skelton
Back again for another year. Our Premiership Coach will continue to manage the reins with his club-wide ‘Star’ Approach for a 7th season after starting in the role in 2015/16. Notwithstanding Lucas’s magnificent on-field contribution, his skill at overseeing our program continues in season 2021/22. Great to have Lucas, Michelle, Flynn, and Will continue at Eric Raven.
Club Assistant Coach – Nathan Boucher
After a season of 580 runs in the Wright Shield our Geoff Ferguson / Ric Ford Club Champion has committed to GI for two seasons, 21 / 22 + 22 / 23. He will assist Skelts at training providing his usual leadership qualities and will continue his huge on-field contribution, adding to his 1434 runs (5 x 50s & 5 x 100s) so far.
Club Batting Coach – Paul Stocks
Stocky and his favourite bowling machine will be back for our batting net. 1st XI Player Cap No. 1, providing years of experience, he was a favourite with all players, young and old, in season 20 / 21 and is sure to bring even more to the role in season 21/22.
Dunstan Shield 1st Team Captain – Tom McDermott
After breaking the finals curse as Captain at Wright Shield level Tom will return as captain of the 1st team. Entering his 3rd year as 1st XI Captain after two previous years at Wright Shield level, we cannot wait for our Premiership Captain’s cricket strategic brain to again lead our side on the field in the Dunstan Shield, as he climbs towards the top 10 run-scorers in the history of the club.
Join us in congratulating the four appointments and stay tuned for further player acquisition announcements on all our social channels
